Overview
Our Mission
To improve community health
To develop health care leaders
Who We Are
Second Opinions was founded in 2015 by Northwestern University medical students with experience in strategy consulting at top-tier firms. They are joined by classmates and colleagues who are passionate about helping community health organizations achieve their goals and better serve their patients. Collectively, our teams draw on a diverse set of experiences from working in clinical wards, corporate boardrooms, start-up, and public health initiatives to help carry out special projects for our community health partners.
How We Work
Goal-oriented Projects
Second Opinions is a project-based organization. We work with community health centers and other clients to identify specific projects with clear objectives that will move them toward their larger goals.
Student-led Teams and Expert Advisors
We assemble teams of medical students to work on projects. Each team includes an experienced Case Team Leader and is supported by our advisory network of faculty members and other experts from Northwestern Medicine.
Due Diligence and Collaboration
Projects usually last 8-12 weeks. During this time, the team will execute analyses, carry out research, and collaborate frequently with the client. Each project ends with a final presentation and materials hand-off.
Longitudinal Follow-up
Our relationship doesn't end with the project. We continually follow-up in order to facilitate knowledge transfer and implementation of our analysis.
