The Illinois Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (IAFCC) was formed to help strengthen and grow Illinois’ free and charitable clinics which currently provide care to over 40,000 uninsured and underinsured patients. IAFCC is able to leverage their network of clinics and supporters to help clinics develop their resources and capabilities, foster beneficial partnerships, and engage stakeholders and donors that are critical to the success of these organizations.
Second Opinions worked with the IAFCC to create an excel dashboard that succinctly characterizes the demographics, financials, and capacities of its member clinics. This powerful tool allows IAFCC to characterize the strengths, weaknesses, and needs of its member clinics, while also allowing them to identify and then disseminate best practices across their member clinics.
While working on the dashboard, we recognized that a clinic survey constructed with a graphical dashboard output in mind would improve the quality and usability of the dashboard. We took on a second goal of developing a new yearly update survey for the IAFCC member clinics. With the help of feedback from clinic directors and our corresponding faculty here at Northwestern, we developed the new survey and are excited to continue working with the IAFCC this fall to analyze the new data.
